Veggie Bite with Chia Beet Hummus Recipe - Made with Nourish Sooji

To cook this delicious and extremely healthy Veggie Bite with Chia Beet Hummus you need the following ingredients:

  • 1 bowl besan
  • 1 tablespoon sooji
  • 2 glass of butter milk
  • 1 to 2 glass of water
  • 1bowl finely chopped onions
  • 1 bowl grated or chopped carrot
  • 1 bowl finely chopped beans
  • 1 bowl chopped green capsicum
  • 1 bowl chopped yellow bell pepper
  • 1 bowl chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 bowl grated boiled potato
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon haldi powder
  • 1 tablespoon jeera
  • 1 tablespoon ajwaiin
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • Mustard oil for tadka
  • Cooking oil for shallow fry

Ingredients for hummus:

  •  1 bowl chick pea
  • 1 cup beetroot puree
  • 4 to 5 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon black or common salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil ( optional )


  •  To make hummus, first of all soak the chick peas overnight. Then boil it.
  • In a blender, put the chick peas, garlic cloves, salt, half tablespoon chia seeds, black pepper and beetroot pulp.
  • Blend it in a smooth paste.
  • It’s optional to add olive oil in it. And here our Chia Beet Hummus is ready.

Garnish it with rest of the chia seeds and few chopped coriander leaves.

For Veggie Bite,

  •  Take mixing bowl and add sooji and besan in it.
  • Then add chilli flakes, jeera, ajwaiin, black pepper , haldi powder and salt.
  • Mix it by adding butter milk .
  • Then mix it properly by adding more water.
  • The consistency of the batter should be in running.
  • Now take a non stick kadai or pan and heat it by adding 2 tablespoon mustard oil.
  • Then put this batter in this kadai and cook it by scratching the sides continuously and make a soft medium thick dough.
  • Transfer it to the plate and let it cool down little bit.
  • Now add chopped onion, coriander leaves, grated potato in it.
  • Mix it properly so that it is combined to each other.
  • Spread this dough mixture in the greased thali or greased baking tray. The layer should be neither so much thick nor so thin. It should be medium thin layer.
  • Refrigerate it for half an hour.
  • After that, cut this into the shape of barfi. Now shallow fry these barfis until gets crisp from both the sides. The flame should be medium.
  • Now serve hot with Chia Beet Hummus and Green Chutney.
