Tasty & Healthy Snack Recipe - Made with Nourish Basmati Rice

A traditional Bihari Delicacy, the #ChanaDalPitha​ is more like a dumpling. While there are many ways to make it, this #BhukkadsMarch​ our Bhukkad Chef Bishakha Kumari Saxena brings you a version that’s made with multigrain atta and stuffed with some fiber rich chana dal.

For Chana Dal Pitha you’ll need:

• 1 cup multigrain flour
• 1/2 cup basmati rice
• 1 cup sooji
• 1 cup chana dal
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
• 1 teaspoon red chili powder

Method for Chana Dal Pitha:

1. Soak chana dal for 2 hours or overnight
2. In a grinder powder the basmati rice
2. In a bowl take multigrain flour, add sooji, and the ground basmati rice flour. Add some salt and make dough while using hot water. The dough should be not be too tight or soft.
3. Now, put chana dal, salt, red chili powder, kasuri methi in a grinder and make a paste. The paste should be too fine, and should be slighty coarse.
4. Take a small puri sized dough and make puri with a roller stick, then in centre put some batter of the chana dal prepared earlier and fold it in a gujiya form. Make all the pitha in the same manner.
5. Meanwhile, put 3 glass of water in cooker and boiled it.
6. Now in this boiling water put all prepared pithas and boiled for 10 minutes. Then after take it out from boiled water, and set aside to cool.
7. Your Chana Dal Pitha is ready
For vermicelli Pitha you’ll need:
• 1 cup Nourish multigrain flour
• 1/2 cup Nourish Basmati Rice
• 1 cup Nourish sooji
• 1/2 cup Nourish vermicelli
• 1 tablespoon powder sugar

Method for vermicelli Pitha

1. Firstly make powder in grinder from Nourish basmati rice.
2. Then take big bowl put multigrain flour, sooji, basmati rice flour, and a little salt and make dough with hot water. The dough should be not be too tight or soft.
3. In a non stick pan put some vermicelli and lightly dry roast it.
4. Now boil the vermicelli for about 2 minutes in about a cup of water.
5. Once boiled cool it down and then add some powdered sugar and mix well.
6. Then, take a small puri sized dough and roll out a small puri. In its centre put come vermicelli and fold it like circle ball. Make all pithas in the same way.
7.Meanwhile, put 3 glass of water in cooker and boiled it.
6. Now in this boiling water put all prepared pithas and boiled for 10 minutes. Then after take it out from boiled water, and set aside to cool.
9. Your vermicelli pitha is ready.
For Curd Papad Sabzi you’ll need:
• 2 pieces Nourish Papad
• 2 tablespoons tomato, green chili paste
• 1 cup curd
• 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
• 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
• 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
• 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
• Salt as per taste
• 1 tablespoon Bail Kolhu Mustard Oil

Method of Curd Papad Sabzi

1. Take the papad, crush and dry roast it on gas.
2. Then in a non stick pan put some mustard oil and heat it. Put some cumin seeds and splutter it.
3. Add some tomato paste and sauté till the oil separates. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt, and kasuri methi. Sauté for 2 minutes.
4. Now put curd in it and sauté till oil separates.
6. Add the papad mix in the gravy and give the mix 1 boil.
7. Your curd papad sabzi is ready.
