You’ll need:
• Wheat flour 2/1/2 cup
• Chana dal 1/1/2 cup soaked
• Dhuli urad dal 1/2 cup
• Green chili chopped 4- 5
• Salt to taste
• Asafetida 1 tsp
• Chopped onion 2
• Red chili powder 2 tsp
• Cumin 1 tsp
• Garlic 1/2 tsp
• Oil 4 tbsp
• Chopped ginger 1 tsp
• Garam masala 1/2 tsp
For Chutney:-
• Coriander leaves 1 bunch
• Green chili 4-5
• Salt 1 tsp
• Garlic cloves 2 -3 pods
• Dry mango powder or lemon juice 1 tbsp
Method:
1. Knead soft dough with 1 tsp salt and water.
2. Make a paste of dal along with salt, asafetida ,green chili and add coriander leaves.
3. Divide the dough into equal small portions and roll out small poories. Stuff the mixture with dal and seal it .
4. Boil approximately 4 glasses of water with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil.Cook the dough balls in them for 15 minutes.
5. Switch off the gas. Once it cools cut the fara into slices.
6. Now heat some oil in a wok or non-stick pan.
7. Sauté cumin, green chili ,ginger and onion
8. Add cooked fara. Add some dry mango powder, red chili powder 1/4 tsp salt. Fry till golden.
Enjoy hot.
